Model: Yeti 170 Elegance. Year: 2013. Posted 23 March, 2020 (edited) There are more important things to worry about ATM, but I'm trying to buy a Yeti Elegance that's advertised on autotrader and Cargurus as a 170, but on the dealer's website as a 140, although they also have a Gen2 170 for sale. Not sure where the sausage fingers have fumbled.
the yeti is not permanent 4x4, the statement is correct. I don't think the answer's quite as simple as that. Perhaps there isn't a clear-cut answer. A Skoda dealer's site - the first I came across in a search - describes it as "permanent 4 wheel drive with automatic torque distribution"

The alarm uses the normal horn. No it does not and it does have a back up battery that needs changing at about 5 years. Set your alarm off and see if it's coming from car horn.

The Skoda Yeti, launched in 2009, offers a different take to mainstream contenders in the compact 4x4 SUV class - it's a low-cost rival for the likes of the Honda CR-V and Volkswagen Tiguan (on which the Yeti is based). In 2014 Skoda introduced the slightly more rugged Yeti Outdoor, which can be bought with four-wheel drive. Read more in our full road test review.

The knees and femurs were well protected and Skoda was able to demonstrate that a similar level of protection would be offered to occupants of different sizes and those seated in different positions.
Unfortunately, it seems that reliability might be the Skoda Yeti's downfall. Owners have reported an extensive amount of issues to HonestJohn.co.uk, ranging from gremlins with the DSG automatic gearbox to leaking sunroofs and high oil consumption on 1.8 TSI petrol engines.
It's a 140 tdi 4x4, elegance spec with a panoroof. 65k on the clock now. So far, the following work has needed to be done above the usual servicing. 1. New clutch, flywheel, clutch master cylinder, and repair to the punctured gearbox casing where a bit of the failed clutch pressure plate punched through.
Believe what you heard. The only decent DSG in the Yeti is the DQ250 wet clutch 6-speed and you only get that in the 2.0-litre TDI. Small automatics with reliable automatics include the Honda Jazz CVT-7, the Toyota Yaris hybrid epicyclic CVT, all Mazda from the 2 to the 6 with 6-speed torque converter autos, all Peugeot and Citroen with EAT6
